Why we did it

The Paddock to Reef Integrated Monitoring, Modelling and Reporting Program (Paddock to Reef program) is a collaboration involving Australian and Queensland government agencies, industry bodies, regional Natural Resource Management bodies, landholders and research organisations. The Paddock to Reef program receives hundreds of requests for modelling data each year. The challenge was to create a website that would allow modelling data to be distributed in such a way as to minimise the amount of contact and time spent by agencies.

What we delivered

The Paddock to Reef Data Portal is a web app that facilitates the distribution of catchment modelling data generated by the Paddock to Reef program. Registered users can download commonly requested data, stored as ‘open data’, generate their own custom datasets using queries, which summarise the complex Reef water quality catchment modelling data, request unpublished data and track data requests.
